03/06/10--Our Anniversary Morning!

For our anniversary, we decided to hit an airboat ride in the morning to see what Florida is known for--alligators!

We went to Cypress Lake Airboat Tours to experience our one hour long swamp adventure.

While we were on the airboat, we learned that alligators are smaller than crocodiles and less threatening to humans and other large animals. (Cows were wading in the water and were not bothered by the alligators.) We also learned that females can get up to 8-9 feet long whereas males can reach up to 12-14 feet. Alligators sunbathe during the day and are more active at night.

Disney's Magic Kingdom

On the first day of our anniversary trip, we explored Magic Kingdom. This is the home of Cinderella's castle. Of course we had to take the classic photo of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse standing in front of the castle.
Check out the cute couple in the next photo!
Each day at 3:45 pm, the disney parade would take over the streets! Can you spot the famous disney characters?
When I was young, I remember vividly not enjoying the Splash Mountain ride. It had too steep of a drop for me--I remember not ever wanting to go back on this ride again. Splash Mountain has been continuously on my mind since we decided to take this trip, and I have been nervous about possibly going on it. This was the day I would have to face my fear again because it was one of the rides Jason wanted to go on. I must admit I was really nervous during the wait in the lines, while on the ride, and of course during the big drop. I did it! Hey, it wasn't as bad as I remembered it being! I have now officially overcome this huge fear of mine, seriously one I've had for many years. We ended up riding it a few times, each time I was nervous, but I knew I could handle it! :) Jason took some pictures to document our experience on the ride. Yes, the last photo is just before the great plunge!
Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were our favorite rides at Magic Kingdom.

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary!

Jason and I have now been married for one year! To celebrate, we took a week long trip to Orlando, Florida! Jason had never visited Florida before, and I haven't been there since I was a young teenager. So we were both due to experience the wonderful world of Disney, where all our dreams come true! We packed our bags and flew to Florida on Thursday, March 4.

We had a fun-filled trip, and I thought I'd post some pictures from our great adventures!
